La Mer’s ‘The Radiant Concealer‘ is one of my holy grail concealers. Bold words, I know!
As a concealer junkie, I’ve literally tried every concealer on the market. Nothing is as easy and flawless as this concealer. It is $70, which is a tough pill to swallow. This concealer takes care of everything in one shot, which helps justify the price… a tad. It’s a highlighter, concealer, sunscreen and under eye treatment. It also contains marine and plant extracts that they claim will help reduce puffiness and wrinkles. I love that it comes in a compact because this type of concealer applies better once it’s had a chance to emulsify on the fingertip. Their website also states that “gemstone technology optically erases imperfections.” La Mer is known for using natural elements to create an organic luminosity. For instance, their translucent powder (another favorite), contains mother of pearl!
It has a creamier consistency than Cle de Peau, but is far less tacky than Bobbi Brown concealers. I do have to warn you that the shades run very light, which may not suit darker skin tones. I use the “Medium” shade. I set this concealer with NARS’ Light Reflecting Setting Powder and the Sephora Collection Pro Airbrush Concealer Brush.
Tip: If this concealer is creasing on you, you’re using too much. I’m not joking when I say that you barely have to use any product to get big results. In fact, one compact of this concealer usually lasts me a year. Don’t forget to use eye cream first and never bring your foundation under your eyes.
If you’ve got the change to spare, I highly recommend this product.
(Update: This version of the La Mer concealer has been discontinued.)
