I was kindly sent a few products from the Luzern Laboratories ‘La Defense’ range to try. (This post is not sponsored, by the way.) If you are unfamiliar with Luzern, it is a Swiss sourced skin care range that features Zermatt glacial water, organic Alpine botanicals, and medical-grade nutrients. Their products are free of parabens, phthalates, petrochemicals, and other “Toxic 12” ingredients. The ‘La Defense’ range, in particular, is designed to protect against pollution and blue-light to further detox, defend, and hydrate the skin from environmental aggressors.
Micellar Cleansing Water – I mentioned in previous posts that I am not always a fan of the morning cleansing routine. I often prefer to skip face washes and instead use a mist or micellar water to cleanse and tone my skin. This micellar has become a favorite of mine. It has fruit enzymes that eliminate dead skin cells to brighten the skin. I swipe this solution over my face with a cotton pad and then rinse with ice cold water. It tightens and brightens!
Daily Moisturizer – Personally, I would only use this moisturizer in the morning. It is lightweight, perfect for underneath makeup, but not rich enough for nightly use. It also has a light, fruity scent. The slim, tube design with a pump makes it great for traveling as well. I believe this would work for all skin types.
Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 – This sunscreen not only is broad spectrum to prevent UVA and UVB damage, but also fights environmental stresses like smoke, pollution, and free radicals. It’s perfect for aging skin as well because it contains vitamins A and E. It also contains aloe vera and hyaluronic acid to soothe and plump the skin. My only qualm is that this cream didn’t exactly glide on the skin. Although it is a bit of a thicker sunscreen, I would point out that it is in no way sticky or tacky once it sinks in.
Detox Masque – This is designed to detox the skin while also improving elasticity. This masque dries to your skin quite like a typical clay mask would, but once removed with warm water, your skin feels smooth, yet clean and purified. If you find that many charcoal masks dry your skin too much, this is the perfect alternative!
All in all, the stand out products to me are the Micellar Water and the Detox Masque. Those will definitely be repurchased! I highly recommend this skin care brand and the ‘La Defense’ range in particular. It’s great to find a skin care line backed by high-tech Swiss science that also contains organic ingredients.
